(If that doesn't bring back poignant memories, this page isn't for you.)

I had a lot of computers when I was small. Many speccies, an Amiga (eventually modified to have a whole 1Mb of memory and a 52Mb external hard-drive - Wow! I mean, that was class back in 1991 or thereabouts ;-)

Anyway, nowadays it's possible to go back and have fits of nostalgia without leaving your PC. Okay, so you need to download an Emulator and the software too. Legally, this is all a bit haywire and tends to be dealt with on a "promise you own this? Okay, download it then" basis. [shrug] Not my problem.

Emulators
I can't be bothered listing them actually. Maybe in the future, but hey. Try Google's directory search Spectrum Emulators and you should find one. I quite like Z80, but not for everything. Okay, it might take a while to get set up, but that's part of the fun! No, really. Don't you remember adjusting the volume on the cassette recorder so the darned things will load? (if you don't this page is so not for you ;-)

Games
Aaah, now we're talking! Remember these?

The best place I've found for this sort of stuff is the World Of Spectrum which is stuffed with emulators, games and all sorts of other goodies.

Alternatively, you could try the superb SCREEN$ which turns your PC screensaver into an excellent representation of all sorts of speccy games. Works wonders at the office [grin]. I have had occasional issues with it conflicting though, so Caveat Emptor. I wonder what the latin for 'download' would be?
